Everywhere you looked last night during the Twilight Farmers Market, people were in a festive. Holiday mood! There were plenty of Santa hats and children dressed in their Holiday clothes for their picture with Santa Claus. The weather was beautiful and the folks were out in droves, buying the food for holiday dinners, picking up the gifts the vendors had made and shopped the boutique stores for their Holiday purchases. (I think a couple of lucky ladies are getting some beautiful jewelry selections bought at the AMG jewelry and design store last night, too!)

Rein-Dog was standing guard at the Alaskan Pride Seafood booth. Everyone stops to pet him, which makes him one very happy Lab!

Now, for next week's Twilight Market, why don't we all wear our favorite Holiday clothes! You know, borrow that crazy Christmas sweater from your Mom's closet (like these girls below did!)

We have a wonderful choir and 3-piece instruments playing your favorite carols on the main stage. Let's all plan to sing-along with them. The local farmers will be bringing their produce for you to buy for your Holiday meals and the artisan bakers are doing the baking for you, too! Finally, bring your unwrapped gifts for our Gifts of Hope Toy Drive. Many children will go without toys this season if we all aren't generous with our donations!

State Farm Hosts a Holiday Open House Today!

One of our newest tenants in the Citadelle Plaza is the State Farm Insurance group. Today, from 4-8 PM, they open their doors for some "good neighbor" fun, some delicious food and drink. All are welcome and you'll want to stop by, as this is one delightful group of people! Plus, I hear they are giving away some great door prizes tonight, as well. Now, isn't that just like what a good neighbor would do!

The details for this special event are written in the invitation above and feel free to give Corine a call if you have any questions or need directions. The open house is conveniently scheduled so that you can also stop by the Twilight Farmers Market to get some local, farm-fresh produce, some grass-fed beef, fresh eggs, some goat cheese and some homemade desserts that allow you to step out of the kitchen a little more this year! Finally, AMG jewelry, Haute C Boutique, Varo's Mens Boutique, Zethina's make-up & skincare and Indulge Salon & MedSpa all have terrific items to complete your Holiday shopping. It's really one-stop shopping in Glendale, at its best!

Bring the kids to get their picture taken with Santa and write their letters with Mrs. Claus, too. There's no line to contend with and there's free hot chocolate for those chilly little hands!

See you soon......

Grand Re-Opening Celebrations on September 25-26 at the Citadelle Plaza

Some of you may have seen one of our flyers asking you to save the date for the weekend of September 25-27 for our Grand Re-Opening Celebrations. You may have asked yourselves why a "GRAND RE-OPENING?" Did we close our doors at some point? What new has opened? Why are we so excited about the Citadelle Plaza and are planning so many fun events in one weekend? These are all great questions and you've come to the right place for your answers!

The Citadelle Plaza originally opened their doors in 2007 with a wonderful design and a handful of unique shops and services for the upscale client in the North Valley area. The timing was difficult as the state and the country began the serious economic downturn we have all experienced for the past two years. The original Owner went bankrupt and was forced to sell many of his properties, including the prized Citadelle Plaza. These announcements went all over the Internet and many neighbors, tourists and the like, assumed that the Plaza had closed. But the store owners and restaurants were very much alive! They each worked hard and kept their loyal clients happy with quality services and goods, and offering amazing customer service.

Approximately six months ago, Bill Metzler/ West Coast Capital Partners acquired the Citadelle Plaza. He immediately put GPE Management Services into the property management role and within weeks you began to see dramatic improvements to the Plaza. If you haven't had the pleasure of meeting Diana Gobet (the property manager), go up to her office on-site and say hello!

Soon, new stores began to open like State Farm, Canyon Physical Therapists, Stein Chiropractic, Blissful Yoga, and the Melting Pot is scheduled to open November 1st, too. This alone is cause for celebration!

The new Owner thought we should all celebrate with our Glendale neighbors, our West Valley residents (and other people further away who have discovered this wonderful shopping center!) with a weekend full of fun parties and events. Who doesn't like a party?

We begin the celebration with a fun, family night of activities. We wanted that small town, family experience like so many people enjoyed growing up in the Midwest. So, help your child decorate up his "wheels" (bikes, wagons, scooters, etc) and join our parade around the center. Next Coffee will have delicious hamburgers and roasted corn and yummy brownies for purchase on the courtyard. There are five categories for the kids' "wheels" to win trophies & smoothies: 'Most Patriotic', 'Funniest', 'Coolest', 'Prettiest', and 'Best Overall'.

Bring your classic cars and motorcycles for an old-fashioned cruise around the center, too! Or, just come to see the area reserved for exotic and classic cars. How about a race car from one of the West Valley's up and coming stars for NASCAR? That's right, Victor Pfluger will be in his race outfit and is bringing his car for photo ops and he will be signing autographs.

Be sure to visit the information booth where we will be selling raffle tickets for prizes to benefit a Glendale-based charity, the AZ Myeloma Network. You can sign up for their 5K Run/Walk & 1-Mile Fun Run called the 'Race for Hope for All Cancers' (October 18th at Westgate City Center). We West-Siders all stick together for a common cause!

While, you're here, be sure to visit the best shopping in Glendale at our boutiques, too. They all have specials running for the Grand Re-Opening weekend.

Saturday, we celebrate with a Runway Extravaganza and we have partnered with MOViN 97.5 from 6-9PM on the Plaza and from 9 PM on at Glendale's finest nightclub, the Sangria Luxe Lounge. Be sure to sign up for the Ultimate Flyaway Giveaway: 2 airlines tickets to Las Vegas, 2-night stay at the Mandalay Bay and two tickets to the Justin Timberlake and friends concert (October 17). The only place you can sign up to win is at the Citadelle Plaza at this event. So, tell your friends about this exciting offer!

The runway will showcase many of our merchants with Zumba class demos from Oasis personal training facility, Yoga demos from Blissful Yoga Studio, hair extension demo with Coco Sanders of Appearances (located in Vivaldi Hair Suites) and Hair Shimmers from Indulgence Salon and Boutique to name just a few. Then from 8:00 PM to 8:45 PM, our boutiques will provide an exciting Fashion Show. This is one show you will not want to miss. Foot Klan will also be performing in between segments of the Fashion Show!

Blissful Yoga Studio Has a Busy First Week

The newest tenant at the Citadelle Plaza, the Blissful Yoga Studio opened their doors this week, offering free yoga classes all week. I finally got the chance to take a class on Labor Day. It won't be my last class, that's for sure!

The Studio is wonderfully decorated with a gorgeous floor, a yoga wall that takes up one whole wall and these cute glass light fixtures for nighttime class use. There are two rooms for yoga classes. One is designed specifically for hot yoga. (I get hot enough in a regular class, but everyone around me in class said I would really enjoy the hot room, too).

The class I took was a FLOW class and the instructor kept us moving for 60 minutes but the time flew by for me. Halfway through, I began thinking about which class I will take next (there are more than 20 classes a week to choose from). There are plenty of package specials listed on their website (Go here...) so whatever works in your schedule they have a plan that's right for you.

Of course, you have to try the yoga wall sometime. I do not know anything about the wall yet but plan to learn about and try this out next week. I hear it's simply the best stretch exercise around and it's the first Yoga Wall(TM) in Arizona.

After class I did a little shopping at this terrific shopping center in Glendale, AZ. Haute C had all their jeans on sale for $99 and I got a 55 minute full body massage at Elements. Now that's my kind of Labor Day! I'd say, rather blissful.

What are you waiting for? Call 623-977-YOGA and attend a yoga class or two! You'll be glad you did.
